El Toro is an abstracted depiction of a bull and matador, inspired by Dana Ellyn’s time in Barcelona during multiple solo exhibitions at Galerie Artevistas just off La Rambla. The animal and human forms emerge slowly, shaped by observation, repetition, and the lasting visual imprint of Spanish iconography absorbed through lived experience rather than direct illustration.
