Make Panem Great Again was inspired by the August 11, 2025 White House press conference in which President Trump announced the federalization of Washington, D.C.’s police, activation of the National Guard, and new enforcement measures targeting crime, homelessness, and city “beautification.” As a Washington, D.C artist living in the heart of downtown, I reimagined the scene through the lens of Panem’s Capitol from The Hunger Games,.
