The Future Is Now was painted on a protest poster I picked up as the No Kings march passed right outside my downtown Washington, DC studio. The wide-eyed woman confronting the glowing “NOW” crystal ball captures that charged moment — part awe, part disbelief — as art, activism, and the present collide. The piece reflects on how the future we talk about isn’t ahead of us anymore; it’s already here, unfolding in real time.
This printed protest poster was being handed out during the No Kings march that passed my downtown Washington, DC studio on October 18, 2025. I picked one up from the crowd as it moved through the streets and then used it as the foundation for my painting The Future Is Now.
