“Reconstructed” revisits one of my early figurative paintings (Coulrophobia, 2005) and dismantles it—pulling the clown, the striped costume, and the circus ring apart until only their emotional residue remains.

What’s rebuilt in their place isn’t just the ghost of that old painting, but also the deeper visual imprint of my early life spent only a mile from Coney Island—echoes of the carnival atmosphere that saturated my childhood long before I had words for it.
