Chinatown by Washington, DC artist Dana Ellyn is a vibrant oil painting inspired by the colors, forms, and visual dynamism of the Friendship Archway in Washington DC’s Chinatown - the neighborhood where she lives. Instead of a literal architectural portrait, the painting absorbs the structure’s palette and geometry into an abstracted self-portrait,  reflecting both the neighborhood’s energy and the artist’s presence within it.
